Elect Democrat Nick Stewart for Baltimore County Executive!

A son of Baltimore County, a father, husband, attorney and lifelong Democrat, Nick Stewart has spent his entire life working inside and outside of government on the very issues at the heart of this crisis. Baltimore County is in the midst of an affordability crisis, coupled with growing distrust in government, and there is no time to wait.

We must move with urgency and radical transparency to build One County that is more affordable, inclusive and modern for everyone. This moment calls for a new kind of leader — a reformer with the vision to meet the challenge before us and the practical experience to deliver real results and write a new chapter in Baltimore County’s story. Together, we can shift power away from the dysfunction in Towson and toward real solutions in communities across the county.

Meet Nick

Nick was raised in Baltimore County, and he and his wife Katie are proud to be raising their four children here as well. Nick is running for County Executive because he is deeply concerned about the county our children will inherit. Baltimore County is facing an affordability crisis and, for the first time in over a century, is losing population as a result. We have an opportunity to reverse course—but only if we choose it. We cannot continue doing what we are doing. This moment calls for a new kind of leader: someone experienced but not wed to the way it has always been done; someone with the courage to confront hard truths; and someone with a plan to turn a moment of crisis into a movement for change.

Nick has spent his entire life working on the very issues at the heart of this crisis. He believes in a future where the next generation can afford to buy a home, raise their kids in strong and safe schools, build vibrant careers and communities and enjoy their retirement—all right here in the county we love. Throughout his career, Nick has worked to make that future possible: co-founding a local advocacy organization to fight for housing and neighborhood investment, serving as Vice Chair of the School Board to improve transparency and outcomes, and working on the Workforce Development Board to connect workers to good jobs and strengthen our economy.

We cannot keep doing what we are doing. We need a plan to move forward. Nick’s life and work have prepared him for this moment, and together, through listening and collaboration, he has built a vision for a county that works for all of us.

Why I'm Running

“I’m running for County Executive because our county has an affordability crisis, and we’re losing residents because of it. We have a chance to intervene and turn this moment of crisis into a movement for change, but we need a plan. Together, we’ve developed the most comprehensive plan of any campaign to build ‘One County’ that’s more affordable, inclusive and modern for everybody.”

What’s My Vision

A More Affordable County

Imagine a Baltimore County where families can afford to stay and grow. Where a starter home is within reach and the people who serve our communities can afford to live in them. Where seniors can downsize without leaving home, families can stay close and the next generation can build a future here.

Nick Stewart believes Baltimore County can be both vibrant and affordable. We don’t have to accept a story of scarcity or choose between growth and community. Through the One County Initiative, Nick will focus on creating abundance across the county so working families, public servants and seniors can put down roots and thrive. This is how we strengthen our communities, grow together and secure Baltimore County’s future.

A More Modern County

Imagine a Baltimore County where clean, affordable energy powers your home, modern transit gets you to work efficiently and technology makes everyday life easier. Imagine a county government that actually works for you—one that is accessible, responsive and driven by data, where getting an answer or solving a problem is simple, seamless and transparent.

Through Nick Stewart’s Smart BaltCo and Engaged BaltCo initiatives, as well as other reforms, Baltimore County can become a government that works smarter and serves better. By embracing technology, breaking down silos and focusing on solutions instead of tradition, we can build a more efficient government, stronger, safer communities and a more competitive economy. This is how we bring Baltimore County into the future, guided by data, grounded in transparency and committed to a government of, by and for the people.

A More Inclusive County

Imagine a Baltimore County where everyone belongs. Where children in crisis are protected and supported, veterans can access the services they earned and LGBTQIA+ residents feel safe, welcome and heard. Imagine a county where hate has no home; where people of every faith—Jewish, Muslim, Christian and beyond—are protected and where every resident, no matter the language they speak, can access services, get help and take part in civic life.

Nick Stewart believes equity is not optional—it is essential to shared prosperity. Baltimore County is One County, One Community and our government must reflect that truth. That means building a county where revitalization starts with community, modernization expands access and representation reflects the full diversity of our communities. An inclusive Baltimore County is one where everyone regardless of race, faith, language, identity or background is seen, served and protected.
